What does an Environmental Engineer and Environmental Scientist in Community Development do?

  • Our Community Development team work to deliver projects that activate city and suburban centres, small towns, rural places to create destinations that make places feel like home.
  • As an Environmental Engineer you will be involved in:
  • Researching, designing, and planning engineering work to prevent, control and remediate environmental hazards.
  • Getting in the field and recording data, numerical data, test results, taking photographs
  • Working and collaborating with environmental scientists, planners, hazardous waste technicians, other specialists and experts to assist with addressing environmental problems.

As an Environmental Scientist you will be involved in:

  • Assisting with scientific research and investigations which could include water quality studies, soil and groundwater investigations, environmental effects assessments, environmental management and compliance, and resource consent processes)
  • Preparing technical reports and memos
  • Work collaboratively with Project Managers, Team Leads, Ecologists, Planners and Engineers
  • Supporting project work by collecting and processing data, and preparing project documentation.

Qualifications

About you:

  • Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science degree
  • Passion for learning and problem-solving
  • A reasonable level of physical fitness is required for these positions, as field work will be involved. Fieldwork may be throughout NSW and Australia including in remote locations
  • Eligible to work in Australia
  • Currently in final year of degree or 1-2 years of experience
