Stantec are seeking talented a Town Planning Graduate to join our Community Development team in Wollongong or Nowra.

What does a Town Planner in Community Development do?

Our Community Development team work to deliver projects that activate city and suburban centres, small towns, rural places to create destinations that make places feel like home.

As a Graduate Town Planner you will contribute to this by: 

  • Provisioning planning support and technical planning input to all Stantec projects dealing with a variety of disciplines (infrastructure, commercial, residential, urban)
  • Carry out investigations and the preparation of planning submissions and reports
  • Preparation of Development Consent and associated environmental approvals documentation
  • Preparation and assessment of development applications and planning studies, utilising your knowledge of statutory planning principles
  • Provision of practical and analytical planning advice to key stakeholders
  • Project management, ensuring deliverables and budgets are met in a timely manner
  • Managing client and community relationships while maintaining quality standards

About you: 

  • Town planning or Urban Planning degree. If you have an environmental interest or doing a double degree in environmental science, this would be highly desirable.
  • Passion for learning and problem-solving 
  • Currently in final year of degree or 1-2 years of experience
