What we do

Abergeldie Complex Infrastructure is an award-winning, Australian owned Tier II civil engineering and construction company with over 25 years’ industry experience. Abergeldie designs and delivers projects in water, transport, underground, energy and remediation industry sectors, projects including dams, bridges, tunnels, water and wastewater treatment facilities, rail infrastructure, mining infrastructure, electrical substations, marine works and pipeline rehabilitation: the complex infrastructure needed to build better communities.

The Story

Abergeldie was established in 1994 by Mick Boyle with one mission: to provide the complex infrastructure needed to build better communities. In its humble beginnings, Abergeldie built telecommunications towers predominantly in NSW and QLD, however as opportunities arose Mick and his team started to grow. Today, Abergeldie is a leading mid-tier in Australia and New Zealand that employs 450 staff and delivers projects across a vast range of civil engineering sectors.

The Abergeldie Way and Culture

Over the course of 25 years, Abergeldie has organically developed six (6) core values called The Abergeldie Way. The Abergeldie culture is built around the guidelines of The Abergeldie Way setting the framework by which everyone at Abergeldie work and deliver projects together, as one team.

  1. Abergeldie pursues the more complex projects
  2. We are serious about safety, quality and the environment
  3. Abergeldie looks for opportunities to innovate. We take initiative
  4. Abergeldie does what it says it will
  5. We are a team that supports each other
  6. We celebrate success together

Building Better Communities beyond Infrastructure

Abergeldie builds better communities in more ways than providing complex infrastructure and aim to give back to the community in any way that we can. We offer staff a number of volunteering opportunities at highly reputable charitable organisations and initiatives in Australia including Western Sydney Vinnies Van, Community Sleepout and Oxfam Trailwalker and welcome various initiatives throughout the year with a similar goal in mind.

Equal Opportunity and Diversity

Abergeldie embraces diversity and is committed to providing an inclusive workplace and culture that provides support for: indigenous education and employment; broad-based equal opportunity programs; multicultural awareness and representation; and a focus on women in management. We believe that an improved culture through greater diversity leads to increased company performance and that everyone is entitled to work in an environment where they are treated with dignity, courtesy and respect.

Sustainability

Abergeldie is dedicated to sustainability and has been named in the Top 10 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Companies in Australia three (3) years in a row. Key projects and company procedures have adopted CSR targets based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and we are increasingly using our business platform to show leadership on issues we feel strongly about, which is why we are committed members of Business Council for Sustainable Development Australia and have published a Climate Change Policy advocating for a fair and planned transition towards a renewable energy future.

Undergraduate Opportunities

From March till July each year Abergeldie invites applicants from third-year undergraduate students in construction management and civil, mechanical and process engineering to join the team as full-time employees in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Wollongong and Auckland for the universities’ 12-week summer vacation.

We offer vacation students extensive guidance, training, on-the-job experience and opportunity to grow and thrive professionally, academically and personally.

The undergraduate vacation program allows the students to learn about all sides of the business from tendering (precontracts) to onsite with the skilled and reputable project and construction managers across all of Abergeldie's capabilities.

Graduate Opportunities

Graduate opportunities are advertised on an as required, rolling basis but we accept expression of interests year around and will keep all CVs on file for future opportunities.

Abergeldie graduate experiences differ from opportunity to opportunity and depends on which team needs an extra hand. Regardless of department or sector, graduates will be learning to deliver projects from industry leaders and with a strong support network that allow for room to grow and thrive professionally and personally.
