Catholic Education, Diocese of Rockhampton, is a large, dynamic and growing organisation with a current enrolment of approximately 16,000 students and a staff of approximately 3,400 in Kindergartens, Early Learning Centres, 31 Catholic Primary Schools and 8 Catholic Secondary Colleges. Catholic Education in the Diocese of Rockhampton serves communities from Bundaberg in the south to Mackay in the north and west to Longreach.

We are currently recruiting for Graduate Teachers to commence in the 2021 school year.

Catholic Education Primary Graduate Teacher Scholarship Program offers an opportunity to secure permanent employment in schools identified as high priority within the Diocese of Rockhampton.

Scholarships of $3200 are available to preservice teachers who demonstrate professional knowledge, professional practice and professional engagement, support Catholic ethos and mission and are eligible for employment as a teacher in the semester following graduation.

We offer graduating teachers the opportunity to secure permanent employment, along with access to a range of support and opportunities including:

  • Support for your transition into the teaching profession
  • The opportunity to secure an early offer of employment in a school within the Diocese of Rockhampton
  • A scholarship of $3200 paid as an initial payment of $200 to each successful applicant plus $1500 in the first year of service and $1500 in the second year of service
  • Access to a range of resources, professional development and mentoring on taking up an appointment
  • A priority placement in your preferred region, after completing a minimum service period (two years dependent on appointment location)
